Rekero Camp

Rekero is an established tented camp beautifully positioned on the Talek River, within the Maasai Mara National Park.

Simple and comfortable, Rekero is a traditional safari camp with bucket showers and no running water. Tents are nestled in an attractive forest, each with their own verandahs, and families can be accommodated in connecting rooms or with a kiddie’s alcove when sharing with parents. The meals are of excellent quality and we love Rekero’s friendly vibe.

Overlooking the river, this camp is in a prime location for the wildebeest migration – it sits on an ancient crossing point, which is the major appeal of Rekero.

This is a good camp for those who want to be within the National Park and the property is well-run with a clear focus on guiding. Although it may feel remote, the area gets quite busy – it has no exclusivity and Rekero Camp is subject to the restrictions of being within the park (no night drives or game walks).
