Kicheche Bush Camp
All the Kicheche Camps in Kenya are favorites of ours and Kicheche Bush Camp is no exception.
Bush Camp is in the game-rich Olare Orok Conservancy, a private concession bordering the Maasai Mara.
Eco-friendly and with superb guides, this well-run bush camp is popular with photographers and guests interested in an authentic safari with few frills. A maximum of four people per vehicle ensure a personal experience and, as game drives are longer than normal (a morning drive could be from 6 am – 12 noon), this is the ideal camp for serious animal lovers. Walks are also offered, which would appeal to those looking for an active experience. For those looking for a more active adventure still, Kicheche offers a 2-day walk beginning at Kicheche Valley Camp with a night spent fly camping in the remote bush. The next morning, a car will drive you to a scenic area to begin your walk into Kicheche Bush Camp.
The social nature of the camp and the fun atmosphere of the management couple (and camp dog) make this a welcoming property for all guests. Kicheche Bush Camp’s meals are superb and dinners are enjoyed outdoors, where the sounds of the night allow you to feel one with nature.
The camp’s canvas tents are attractive and comfortable, with bucket-showers, but no running water.
We love this for an intimate bush experience in a top game area and a down-to-earth environment.
