Mara Expedition Camp
Mara Expedition is the little sister to Mara Plains Camp. It is a bit simpler than Mara Plains and has more of a barefoot luxury feel, but as part of the renowned Great Plains Conservation Portfolio, this intimate camp offers a high level of service and accommodation.
Well-appointed canvas tents, under a canopy of Ebony Trees, afford a welcoming place to relax, and you are provided Canon Cameras for use on game drives and bush walks. The main areas are decorated in a typical safari-camp style with comfortable spaces to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Delicious meals are served in the dining tent or outdoors when good weather permits.
Although not as luxurious as Mara Plains Camp it is still a very comfortable and stylish option and a favorite of ours. Mara Expedition sits just inside the Maasai Mara Reserve boundaries but game drives can be in either the private Mara North Conservancy or in the National Reserve. There are no set schedules at Mara Expedition-maybe a full day of game driving with a picnic lunch, a morning drive with lunch at camp and then a quiet afternoon, or another drive in the evening. The choice is yours.
