Naibor Camp sits in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve and is a beautiful camp, located on a scenic bend of the Talek River overlooking an area where a large hippo pod often congregates.
Contemporary tents with modern furnishings, bucket showers and solar lighting ensure guests are comfortable, and the heavily-forested area adds to the camp’s feeling of remoteness in the sometimes crowded Mara. The tents have large verandahs and day beds where you can choose to enjoy private dining in lieu of a more social night with the other guests in camp.
Naibor also runs sister camps Little Naibor and Naibor Wilderness which are smaller and offer for a more intimate experience.
Year-round game viewing is very good and the camp is well-placed to catch the wildebeest migration. Because of its prime location inside the park, game drives are the primary activity.
Being inside the national park means that you are limited in terms of night drives and walks – you cannot be in the park after dark and walking is prohibited. In addition, the main Mara can get very busy and because the camp is not in a private concession they have no control over the number of vehicles at a sighting. That being said, Naibor and Rekero camp across the river have exceptional guides that seem to find a way to avoid the crowds, even in the busy summer months.
