Makanyi screams luxury and romance. Their five standard suites are 1,500 square feet each with a plush bedroom, lounge with fireplace, spacious bathroom with separate shower and tub, outdoor shower, and private patio with views over the bush and waterhole. The two honeymoon suites are largely the same but with a romantic 4-poster bed and private plunge pool. The décor can only be described as safari chic. The main area has comfortable lounges, pool table and TV, pool, spa, and gym. Makanyi is very comfortable and comes equipped with all of the modern amenities that you could expect at a hotel, which is great if you need to stay connected (although these features aren’t for everyone). The service standard at Makanyi is incredibly high and their wonderful management couple comes from years of experience and takes great care of their guests.

Makanyi is located in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger Area. The Timbavati is not bordered with any fences, so the wildlife freely roams the entire area. Kruger is known for being home to the Big Five, but the Timbavati has the rare white lion. Game drives in Makanyi’s vehicles are thrilling and you should be sure to book a photographic safari with one of Makanyi’s professional wildlife photographers. Aside from game drives, activities include bush walks and fishing.

Makanyi is easily accessible with daily flights to/from Hoedspruit. Kruger is a year-round destination, but the best game viewing occurs between May and November during their dry season when the wildlife is most visible.
