Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge

Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge is located in the Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve adjacent to the Kruger National Park. This area is excellent for game-viewing, April through October being the best, however June though August can get quite cold. This 250 square mile reserve is only traversed by those staying at Bush Lodge or its sister camps – Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge, Sabi Sabi Little Bush Camp, or Sabi Sabi Selati Camp – so your Big 5 game-viewing experience will be quite exclusive. Because you’re in a private game reserve, night drives and walking safaris are also available.

The lodge itself features 25 suites in total. The 22 standard thatched suites feature en-suite bathrooms and although they’re all in a row, they maintain privacy from the main walkway and neighboring suites. The Mandleve Presidential Suite is a beautiful and romantic suite that features a large bedroom, en-suite bathroom, outdoor shower, and spacious lounge room that leads to a private patio and plunge pool. Even more impressive are the two new luxury villas. Very contemporary and beautifully designed, these spacious villas offer two bedrooms (perfect for families or couples traveling together) each with separate bathrooms. The communal lounge area is grand and beautifully decorated. The private patio and plunge pool overlook a waterhole that draws game right to your doorstep. The Mandleve Suite and villas each have access to private vehicles and guides which really enhances the value of the accommodation. The only downside is that dining typically still takes place in the main lodge, but this can also be nice as it lends itself to a more communal vibe.

Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge is great for families. They accept children of all ages (except on select activities) and they have their own EleFun Centre which is great. Kids’ playtime is the perfect time for a treatment at the Amani Spa. With the exception of the villas and the Mandleve Suite, we wouldn’t recommend this property for couples because it’s still quite large which is really its only major drawback. We find Sabi Sabi Little Bush Camp to be far more intimate and romantic.
