Tanda Tula Safari Camp
Tanda Tula in the Timbavati Reserve is a little gem which just seems to tick all of our boxes. It is a value for money property which offers lovely tented accommodation, great game viewing, excellent service and additional walking activities.
Public areas are pleasant and nicely decorated with a pool for cooling off in during the summer months. Tanda Tula is a classic tented camp, comfortable but not over the top. Meals are generally served at one long table on the lawn or in the boma, creating a nice communal feel.
Game drives are always an exciting experience. However, in the dense vegetation of the Timbavati, you do have to search a bit harder for animals than in the Sabi Sands. The camp now provides walking trails and sleepouts, and is developing their community visits.
We love Tanda Tula. It is a good mid-range option and we have had consistently enthusiastic feedback from clients. Authentic tented camps are rare in South Africa and we appreciate both the camp’s style and the wildlife experience our clients find here. Tanda Tula does, however, share traversing rights with Kings Camp and you are conscious that there are other vehicles around. Children over 8 are accommodated and families are welcome.
