Kings Camp is located in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, bordering the Kruger National Park. The game viewing is more varied, but you will not see as many leopard as you will in the Sabi Sands. We often recommend spending time in both areas for a broader range of wildlife. But Kings Camp’s experienced rangers ensure your game drives are both educational and exciting.
The camp, built in the 1950s, has a colonial feel to it with natural colors, wood, and thatch throughout. Rooms are elegantly decorated, and safari-theme animal print is mixed in with lighter tones. The layout is very traditional, with rooms built on either side of a large lawn and swimming pool.
There are honeymoon suites at Kings Camp for those looking for a romantic vacation, and the Waterbuck Villa is a great option for small groups or families. A private butler and guide are part of the package.
We do love the staff here. The property has a warm and friendly feel to it. Thanks to attentive management, excellent meals, and reasonable pricing, it is a lovely safari option. Kings Camp has a kosher kitchen in addition to the normal kitchen used for most guests.
