Fishing

If there is water there will be fishing! While seasonal, you can go tiger fishing on the Zambezi while on safari in Zambia or in the Victoria Falls Area. Take a boat out for the day for some deep sea fishing for tuna and marlin on the coast of Mozambique, Tanzania, South Africa, Kenya or the Seychelles.

For a truly epic adventure, take a helicopter up 12,000 feet to the lakes on Mt. Kenya; or fly-fish in the crystal waters of Lake Alice in Meru.

Kids love fishing in the dam while at Makanyi Lodge in South Africa. In the family-friendly Waterberg Region, Tintswalo at Lapalala is a fisherman’s haven where bass and fly-fishing are offered. You will be taken to areas off the beaten track to discover pools and rapids where teeming yellow fish swim free. With 27km of pristine river frontage throughout the reserve, the Palala River present guests with the unique opportunity to fish the crystalline mountain waters or take a clip in the bubbling rapids. A few favorite camps including Xugana, Kanana and Camp Okavango in the Okavango Delta, Botswana can provide serious fishers with great opportunities in September and October for big fishing – reserve a private boat for the day ahead of time and we can assist with setting up your gear list.

Being an island nation, Australia offers all kinds of fishing experiences in both the ocean and freshwater. Catch huge marlin in Cairns, Queensland; barramundi in the Top End, Northern Territory; trout in Central Highlights, Tasmania; and bluefin tuna in Port Lincoln, South Australia

New Zealand offers some excellent fishing experiences in both fresh and saltwater, but our favorite is the fly fishing for brown trout at Stonefly Lodge in Nelson with one of their esteemed fishing guides. For something different, try heli-fishing!

 The Lake Districts in both Chile and Argentina offer incredible fly fishing from beginners to experts.
