Ellerman House is a family-owned luxury manor overlooking Cape Town’s Bantry Bay noted for stylish main rooms and decks with magnificent sea views that put it in a class of its own. It’s known for it’s impressive art gallery which has an outstanding showcase of contemporary work. Be sure to visit the wine gallery to see the amazing cork screw wine rack – an art piece in itself. The brandy lounge and champagne cellar offer additional elegant spaces for relaxation and socializing with fellow guests.
From May through September you may catch sight of whales as you enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the lawn. Or if an active seascape spontaneously appears, the 24/7 pantry of freshly baked goods is at your fingertips so you can grab a warm drink and a nibble as you watch the action. The food here is outstanding as is the service. Between the dining, the wine, and the art, Ellerman House is truly an experience to be had.
We highly recommend Ellerman House, but it is slightly out of Cape Town, so you do need a vehicle to get around. Ellerman has a great concierge/shuttle service that will help you access all of the best areas of this great city. The area is quiet and more suited for those looking for a serenely luxurious property. After a long day of touring Cape Town, we highly recommend a visit to the spa for that needed revitalization.
Cape Town is a year-round destination, with September and October being the best months to visit due to the wildflowers and opportunities for whale watching.
