Kensington Place

Located in walking distance to the trendy Kloof Street area of Cape Town, Kensington Place is a hip, modern hotel offering stylish accommodation in an excellent location.

We love the artistic décor and the friendly, homey feel in addition to great service. It is much more of an elegant home than impersonal hotel, with a sensual and original vibe. Rooms are chic and well-appointed and the food is excellent. We recommend the mountain-facing rooms. The staff have been here for years, so the level of attention to detail and care is high. The hotel pre-books restaurant reservations so you always have a variety of options available.

The fact that Kensington Place is close to restaurants and shops is a big attraction, although you should be prepared to take a taxi home from dinner if you’d prefer to avoid the 15-minute uphill walk back to the hotel.

This is a good property for singles, honeymooners and couples but wouldn’t be suitable for families and children. There is no elevator so this is not a good choice for anyone who can’t walk up two or more flights of stairs.

Cape Town is a year-round destination, with September and October being the best months to visit due to the wildflowers and opportunities for whale watching.
