Praslin, the second largest island in the Seychelles, is an ideal base for travelers to explore the archipelago. Praslin offers easy access to the surrounding islands, great accommodation options, and lots of activities to choose from.
The island is home to some of the world’s most exquisite beaches, Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette, as well as the Vallee de Mai , a UNESCO World Heritage Site and prehistoric forest brought to life by giant ferns and the fascinating Coco de Mer palm. A visit here is a must.
The endemic flora and fauna on Praslin make it extra appealing to nature lovers. Once on Praslin, you can easily spend days exploring the smaller islands of La Digue, Curieuse, St Pierre, Cousine, Coco and Sister Islands. Spend a day island hopping and snorkeling with traditional Creole lunch set up on the beach.
Praslin is 15 minutes by air from Mahe, or an hour by boat. The ferry can be rough between May and September so it is not ideal for those who get sea-sick, but it is a great way to get a taste of local life.
For guests staying on Praslin, we recommend Raffles, Constance Lemuria, Coco de Mer & the Black Parrot Suites, and Le Domaine De La Reserve.
