Antarctic Peninsula

The Antarctic Peninsula is included on most itineraries, as this is the one spot from South America to visit the mainland continent – an important notch to tick on most globetrotter’s belt who are seeking the 7th Continent. First-time visitors are humbled by the staggering beauty of the Antarctic, which is more than just a sheet of ice. Soak up the beauty of icebergs, glaciers, snow-covered mountain tops and incredible wildlife. You can reach the peninsula by crossing the Drake Passage from Tierra del Fuego, the southernmost tip of South America.

Exploring the Antarctic Peninsula gives you the chance to witness minke and humpback whales at close range, to gaze upon icebergs of every conceivable shape and size in the bays, fjords and inlets and to spend time with the gregarious penguin colonies.  The peninsula is also a place of extreme activity, including mountaineering, hiking, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and sleeping out under the stars (a highlight for many guests).
