Sand Rivers Selous
Sand Rivers Selous is located in Southern Tanzania’s Nyerere region, part of the Southwest Circuit, overlooking the Rufiji River. The Nyerere Game Reserve is very remote without many nearby lodges, so this is a very special and exclusive experience. Sand Rivers Selous boasts some amazing wildlife activities including walking, birding, boating, fishing, and game drives with knowledgeable rangers. Picnics, fly camping, and a visit to the hot springs can also be arranged. Expert guides ensure you have a top wildlife experience at Sand Rivers Selous and, unlike many other parks and game reserves, this is a popular walking safari destination.
Sand Rivers Selous has five river-facing rooms that are constructed out of stone, wood, and thatch with views over the river. The three hillside suites are set into the forest and also have lovely river views, sitting rooms, and plunge pools. Structure and furnishings all blend flawlessly with nature in a contemporary and extremely luxurious manner. The main areas offer stunning views over the Rafiji River as you relax in the communal lounge or enjoy an excellent meal. Bush breakfasts and al fresco meals are another way to appreciate the simplicity of the natural surroundings while being cared for by attentive staff.
The Nyerere is a year-round destination, except during the months of heavy rains in April and May.
