Roho ya Selous

The Selous is the largest game reserve in Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a huge diversity of landscapes. Roho ya Selous makes the most of this diversity by focusing on activities that get you outside of the vehicle. Boating and water activities are a big draw – you can spy hippo pods in the river and crocodiles sunning on the sandbanks as you drift by in a boat, or opt for an afternoon of catch and release fishing. Walking safaris and fly camping are popular activities in the Selous, allowing you to explore the rugged terrain, appreciate the intricacies of the ecosystem, and track wildlife on foot. Open air game drives take you further afield in search of big predators. Whatever you do, this a great camp for the adventurous traveler who still wants a few nicer amenities.

Roho ya Selous comprises eight en-suite tents with stone floors, mesh tent siding and cooling systems, which means that even in hot months, you will enjoy a comfortable night’s rest. While you don’t get views of the river from camp, the setting on a tree-covered hillside is gorgeous. Small personal touches and friendly warmth of the staff and guides make this beautiful camp stand out.
