Eden Nairobi

This beautiful property forms the foundation of an incredible hotel that one woman forged from her life story. Originally designed and built by Tonio and Anna Trzebinski (who used to run Lemarti’s Camp in Laikipia), Eden offers travelers an immediate connection to a deeply authentic expression of Anna and her family’s home, history, and adventures.

Set on a four-acre forested property in the peaceful suburb of Langata, the former home has been transformed into a living museum and private gallery space that is filled with the family’s own artworks and creations, including their personal library and artifacts that have been collected over a lifetime on the continent.

With the main house first built in 1992, Eden has organically grown into its present form and has eight ensuite double bedrooms, two open plan drawing, and dining room areas with a working fireplace and bar, as well as a large veranda attached to the main house. The hotel’s homey fixtures and furniture seamlessly blend with top-notch modern amenities, fresh flowers, and contemporary art. Relax with a book by the fire in the main house or lounge on the veranda, where al fresco dining is punctuated by the roar of lions from nearby Nairobi National Park.

Tranquility is the name of the game at Eden. Here, spy on the resident peacocks, parrots, and monkeys in the gardens. Not wild enough for you? Pop over to the Giraffe Sanctuary that abuts Eden’s property to try your hand at feeding the long-necked lovelies. For a more cultural experience, visit the Bomas of Kenya to learn about the country’s 43 different tribes as well as their distinct languages and cultures. Even see traditional homesteads. This is the perfect stopover on any trip.
