Hemingway’s is located in the Karen neighborhood of Nairobi, a quiet and residential area just outside the hustle and bustle of the capital city’s Central Business District. This luxurious hotel offers excellent and personalized service, comfort, and space. There are 45 suites that boast high ceilings with exposed beams; en-suite bathrooms with double vanities, rain shower, bathtub, and separate toilet; a walk-in closet; a 40” LED TV that rises out of a trunk; and a private balcony that overlooks the gardens and has clear views of the Ngong Hills. Two if these suites are penthouse-style Presidential Suites which are larger with a separate sitting room and two bathrooms. Each suite honors and is named after a different historical figure and is decorated in an elegant and contemporary colonial style.

Hemingway’s is known for its excellent service. Your private butler is available to you 24/7 for anything you might need, including a ride to your suite in a golf cart! They will make sure that your flowers are fresh; your clothes and folded, hung, or pressed; and that your requested nightcap is waiting for you once you return from dinner. Hemingway’s has some excellent dining options as well as a full spa, salon, and pool.

Even though it’s a larger hotel than we tend to prefer, we love Hemingway’s because your experience still feels personal. We highly recommend it for anyone spending at least two nights in Nairobi. It’s also just down the street from the area’s best attractions; Giraffe Center and the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage.
