Private Arequipa luxury travel

Nestled in the southwestern region of Peru, Arequipa stands as a city with a captivating history and cultural heritage that dates back centuries. The city’s foundation was built upon the remnants of pre-Columbian settlements, and this fusion of indigenous roots and colonial influence is evident throughout the cityscape.

At the heart of Arequipa lies the historic city center, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Plaza de Armas, surrounded by impressive arcades and grand cathedrals, serves as the hub of the city’s social and cultural life. White volcanic stone known as sillar adorns many of the buildings, lending a unique charm to Arequipa’s architecture.  The city’s allure extends to the Andean landscapes that surround it. Majestic volcanoes, such as Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu, tower over the city, providing a dramatic backdrop.

The best time to visit Arequipa is during the dry season, which lasts from April to October. During these months, the weather is generally pleasant and rainfall is minimal, allowing for enjoyable exploration of the city and its surrounding landscapes.

From Arequipa, we suggest continuing to the nearby Colca Canyon. One of the world’s deepest canyons, Colca offers lovely views and the chance to spot Andean condors.
