Victoria Falls: Staying in Zimbabwe, If you want to visit Victoria Falls from the Zimbabwe side (check out our blog comparing Zimbabwe and Zambia visits to Victoria Falls here) here are some recommendations from Extraordinary Journeys on where to stay in the town of Victoria Falls in various price ranges.
Our Favorite: Elephant Camp
Elephant Camp is our favorite on the Zimbabwe side of the falls. While only 10 minutes from the Falls, Elephant Camp feels wonderfully private and serene. The Camp is beautifully decorated, with great management offers as well as elephant interactions and a resident cheetah name Sylvester! Another great luxury option on the Zimbabwe side is Victoria Falls River Lodge.
A Must See: Victoria Falls Hotel
Victoria Falls Hotel is a journey back to the time of the old fashioned colonial safaris. However, while high tea at the Victoria Falls Hotel is an experience we highly recommend, the rooms can vary quite a bit in quality. (From $350 per person per night for a standard double room)
Value for Money: Ilala Lodge
Ilala Lodge is a great property in a lower price range. It is also the closest hotel to the Falls (you can see the spray of the Falls from the lawn) and animals from Zambezi National Park often grazing on the grounds. The hotel is also in the town of Victoria Falls which is safe and welcoming and a great place to walk around. Be sure to request rooms on the second floor for great balcony space. ($150-215 per person per night for a standard double room)
Good for Large Groups: Victoria Falls Safari Lodge
The Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is a great choice for larger groups and has a fabulous water hole which attracts tons of animals and is easily seen from the Lodge terrace. ($150-180 per person per night for a standard double room)
