The St. Regis Cairo

Standing 36 stories tall and presiding over the Nile River, the St. Regis Cairo is a beacon of luxury in Egypt’s frenetic capital.

Travelers can expect a warm welcome and the high-level service that this five-star international hotelier is known for. All the modern creature comforts are here: well-appointed rooms, a full-service spa, gym, multiple restaurants and bars, Wi-Fi, and both an indoor and heated outdoor pool. The hotel’s central Cairo location is well-positioned for market, museum, and pyramid visits.

St. Regis Cairo accommodations

A large property, St. Regis Cairo has 233 rooms, 50 suites, and 79 serviced apartments. Rooms have views that look upon the Nile River or Old Cairo, framed by floor-to-ceiling windows. (We love both views.) Though it’s very much a franchise hotel, design details like lily and lotus motif wallpaper and Mashrabiya elements give the space a distinct sense of place.

St. Regis Cairo amenities

There are three restaurants and three bars within St. Regis Cairo, each with a different culinary concept: Italian at La Zisa, grilled proteins at J&G Steakhouse Cairo, and South Asian influences at Tianma. The elegant St. Regis Bar & The Water Garden pays homage to New York’s legendary King Cole Bar—with a distinctly North African twist. Poolside, Sirocco serves up al fresco dining with spectacular Nile River views. Upon request, guests can enjoy private, butler-served dining.

Stretching across two floors, Iridium Spa offers eight treatment rooms, a hydropath, and a comprehensive menu of services. (Romantic partners and honeymooners take note—there’s a dedicated couples spa suite.) Signature treatments nod to Cleopatra (using milk and honey), Amun-Ra (crystal scrub), and the Nile (incorporating Red Sea salts). Or, choose from a number of Pharaonic Rituals.

Guests looking to lounge might do so in the fifth-floor Astor Library. Otherwise, nip to the outdoor pool where teak loungers, plush sun beds, and handsome timber cabanas beckon you to lay out beneath the Egyptian sun.

A full-service fitness center, The St. Regis Athletic Club, offers more than just cardio machines so often found in hotel gyms. Resistance machines, presses, cables, free weights, and a sauna round out the offering. A personal trainer is available upon request.

Parents who want to enjoy the St. Regis Cairo’s refined amenities without their kids can bring them to the Amulet Children’s Club. This fun space offers supervised play, crafting, foosball, PlayStation, and more. Other family-friendly amenities include a dedicated swimming pool (heated) with a lifeguard on duty and an after-hours babysitting service. Dedicated spaces allow children to be themselves without parents stressing about whether they are bothering other guests.

We love St. Regis Cairo for its unapologetic luxury; it is the most upscale urban hotel in Cairo. Despite occupying a skyscraper, you won’t feel anonymous, nor overwhelmed by its size—service here is impeccable. This property suits families, couples and traveling friends alike.
