Entamanu Ngorongoro
Overlooking Tanzania’s iconic Ngorongoro Crater sits Entamanu Ngorongoro. Ensconced in the Acacia Lahai trees and lush green vegetation, Entamanu is part of this pristine environment with uninterrupted views of wilderness. Designed as an eco-friendly lodge, the structure has zero footprint – meaning nothing is permanent and the materials/furnishings are local and sustainably sourced. The lodge is comprised of six en-suite canvas tents including two connected tents ideal for families. Elevated on wooden platforms, your private veranda is the perfect place to absorb the Crater’s panoramic vistas.
Rise early to watch the sunrise over the caldera before setting off on guided walking safaris which follow dramatic routes around the rim of the Crater, or opt for traditional game drives. Spot gazelle, impala and monkeys, as well as must-see predators like lion and cheetah. You can also visit a Maasai village. Optional extras include visiting the beautiful lakes Ndutu and Eyasi, and the impressive Empakaai Crater, enjoying sundowners with exceptional views. Back at camp, enjoy the warmth from the communal fireplace in the evening while swapping safari stories and watching the sun set over the Serengeti. Don’t forget to pack layers as the mornings and evenings are cold at 7,500 ft. Entamanu maintains textured wool/down duvets and heaters for each tent.
