What really hit me about Botswana was its wildness. I felt like I was in the middle of nowhere, completely immersed in nature. On my first day, a dazzle of zebra crashed out of the bush right in front of our truck, totally oblivious to our presence. Then, a family of warthogs decided to set up camp on the landing strip—we had to clear them off so we could fly. It’s these kinds of experiences that sum up Botswana: wildlife is everywhere. It’s wild and untouched.

What was the highlight of your trip?

I loved the passion and pride the people have for Botswana, especially my guides. They were so invested in teaching me about their beautiful country—the animals, the plants, and the environment—that it added a whole other level to the trip. The human population is so connected to the land, and it creates a very special safari experience.
