It's personal because this is our family story—one that began fifty years ago when Marcia, our co-founder, made Kenya her home. Born in Kenya and shaped by a life lived across continents—from Paris to Taiwan, China, Israel, and Argentina—Marcia’s daughter Elizabeth inherited her passion for adventure. Together, they founded Extraordinary Journeys in 2009 to introduce travelers to a new kind of luxury travel: wondrous, warm, spontaneous, and alive with discovery.
Today, Extraordinary Journeys winds through 39 countries across five continents (and counting). Our team has been recognized by Travel + Leisure and Condé Nast Traveller as some of the best travel specialists in the world. But even though we’ve grown, Extraordinary Journeys is still rooted in the same belief it began with: travel is personal—and so is the way we craft it.
