Luminous Petra, the Dead Sea, and Wadi Rum made richer by Jordanian hosts
For travelers curious about the Middle East, Jordan offers a gracious and accessible introduction to the region. Stable, welcoming, and cosmopolitan, it is a country where ancient history and contemporary life exist side by side. Visitors are met with genuine hospitality and a strong sense of pride in sharing their homeland.
Jordan’s compact size makes it especially rewarding for those with limited time. Slightly larger than the state of Maine, it allows you to experience an extraordinary range of landscapes and cultural highlights — from Petra and Wadi Rum to the Dead Sea — without feeling rushed.
What stays with most of our travelers, however, is not only the iconic sites, but the warmth of the people. Jordanians are naturally generous hosts, eager to share stories, traditions, and conversation. Travel here feels personal. You leave not just having seen remarkable places, but having formed meaningful connections — the kind that define an Extraordinary Journey.

On a bespoke Jordan tour, you’ll experience the kingdom entirely your way, from standing before Petra’s Treasury at sunrise to trekking through Wadi Rum and camping with Bedouins under desert stars. Float in the Dead Sea, explore by camel or 4x4, and savor every moment at your own pace.

From our first interaction with Amelia and team, the information and service provided was excellent. The property, accommodations and food were incredible. Best of all - the people! This trip exceeded our expectations and was exactly what we wanted.
Joshua Howarth, 2025 Traveler
For a small country, Jordan has an extraordinary range of climates. In terms of temperature, the best time to visit is in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when the daytime temperatures aren’t too extreme. April is probably the best month, when temperatures are warm and wildflowers are in bloom. March can be cold and rainy in the North but is balmy by the Gulf of Aqaba and the Dead Sea. Note that some of the best ecotourism projects in the nature reserves only operate between April and October.
The heat and humidity can be extremely oppressive in summer months of July and August. Winter can be quite cold and the desert can be freezing at night. Even snow in Amman is not unheard of. The month of Ramadan (exact dates vary each year) might be tricky, as visitors are encouraged to respect local customs and not eat, drink, or smoke in public.

From moonlike deserts to ancient cities, Jordan stuns with dramatic landscapes, timeless history, warm hospitality, and adventures that feel cinematic
Aptly dubbed “The Valley of the Moon”, this desert valley features an other-worldly landscape of massive razor-toothed mountains, undulating dunes as far as the eye can see, and rocks sculpted by the forces of nature into incredible bridges, towering canyons, bulbous domes, and a variety of other impressive formations. With very little modern development, Wadi Rum makes for an astonishingly unspoiled destination.
