Zimbabwe

Rugged safari spirit meets the Zambezi River, UNESCO ruins, and thunderous Victoria Falls

The places that pull us back

Explore our team’s favorite destinations. Not the entire map, but a handful of places we love returning to.

A lone giraffe walks through a dry sandy landscape with bare winter trees in Zimbabwe.

Gonarezhou and Malilangwe

Gonarezhou National Park and the adjoining Malilangwe Reserve can be found in the remote southeast of Zimbabwe, where rugged and scenic landscapes extend across a vast area of baobab-dotted scrubland and pale orange sandstone cliffs.

A dead tree silhouette rises above still pink-tinted water at sunset over Lake Kariba.

Matusadona and Lake Kariba

Lake Kariba is one of the largest man-made lakes in the world—a vast, crystal-clear inland sea created by the damming of the Zambezi River, fringed by grass-covered shorelines and scattered with islands.

Golden sunrise lights Victoria Falls as water plunges into the gorge and thick spray drifts above the cliffs.

Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls, the seventh wonder of the world, is located across the Falls from Livingstone, its sister town in Zambia. Activities abound and range from super active – bungee jumping, canoeing, whitewater rafting, to the more serene – river safaris, fishing and sunset cruises on the Zambezi River.
