Gonarezhou and Malilangwe Safaris

Gonarezhou National Park and the adjoining Malilangwe Reserve can be found in the remote southeast of Zimbabwe, where rugged and scenic landscapes extend across a vast area of baobab-dotted scrubland and pale orange sandstone cliffs.

Accommodation offerings are slim in this remote region and getting here takes a bit of patience, but the payoff is worth it in exclusivity, diversity, wildlife, and stunning landscapes.

Why visit Gonarezhou and Malilangwe?

  • 1

Gonarezhou is famous above all for its elephants (including some of the largest-tusked individuals in the region) alongside lion, leopard, and buffalo completing four of Africa's Big Five. Cross into the private Malilangwe Reserve and the wildlife portfolio expands further still, with black rhino, roan antelope, and sable antelope among the rare species that call this 130,000-acre wilderness home.
