Cairo

Day 1: Egypt Arrival

Welcome to Cairo! Step off the jetway to be warmly received and escorted through immigration and luggage collection. A private driver brings you to Fairmont Nile City, where you’ll settle into a spacious, Art Deco-styled suite overlooking the Nile River. Toast the start of your extraordinary journey in the lantern-lit Bab El Nile lounge or tuck into a pillowy bed and drift off to sleep.

Day 2: Grand Egyptian Museum 

More than 20 years after it was conceived, the Grand Egyptian Museum fully debuted in 2025. Home to the complete Tutankhamun collection, the Hanging Obelisk of Ramses II, Egyptian mummies, Khufu’s Solar Boat, and so much more, spend the entire day poring over GEM’s priceless wonders. Your visit is conducted by an Egyptologist who breathes life into precious objects, statues, and hieroglyphs through vivid storytelling and historical accounts.

Day 3: Seven Wonders of the Ancient World 

With your Egyptologist, journey to the Giza Plateau, where the desert opens onto Egypt’s most enduring symbols. Stand before the Great Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, their immense scale defying time and imagination. Lunch at 9 Pyramids Lounge is served with postcard-perfect pyramid views. Later, meet the enigmatic Sphinx and hear the story of its ancient Dream Stela. Return to the Fairmont, awed by antiquity.

Day 4: Cairo Cultural Immersion  

Discover a different side of Cairo, beginning at the Citadel, a medieval fortress rising above the city on limestone hills. Explore its mosques and museums before continuing to the vibrant Khan El-Khalili Bazaar, where labyrinth alleys buzzwith artisans and fragrant stalls. Pause for lunch at the fabled Naguib Mahfouz Restaurant, then end at the majestic Sultan Hassan and nearby Al-Rifa’i Mosques, rich with history, architecture, and royal tombs.

Luxor

Day 5: Land of the Pharaohs  

Fly south to Luxor (ancient Thebes), once Egypt’s most powerful spiritual and cultural center. Alongside your Egyptologist, enter royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings where the veil between the earthly and the divine feels eerily thin.Continue to the dramatic Temple of Hatshepsut framed by Deir el-Bahari’s cliffs, then stand in awe at the Colossi of Memnon. The atmospheric Al Moudira Hotel is home for two splendid nights.

Luxor

Day 6: Karnak & Luxor Temple

Meet your Egyptologist this morning to explore the vast sanctuary of Karnak, where soaring columns, colossal statues, and densely carved hieroglyphs speak to nearly two millennia of opulent spiritual devotion. Your afternoon unfolds atLuxor Temple, celebrated for its grand colonnade and finely carved royal reliefs. Learn how sacred processions and the Opet Festival once renewed kingship along the Nile during the height of the New Kingdom.

Aswan

Day 7: Ancient Egypt’s Southern Frontier

Make the four-hour drive south to Aswan, arriving around midday. After lunch, explore the Aswan High Dam, then visit the relocated Temple of Philae, rising serenely from the Nile, and the Unfinished Obelisk, still cradled in granite. Later, sail by felucca around Elephantine and Kitchener’s Islands before arriving at the storied Sofitel Legend Old Cataract. Dine at 1902 Restaurant, just as Belle Époque Egypt travelers and presidents have.

Aswan

Day 8: Abu Simbel Tour

This morning, take a short flight to Abu Simbel, home to Ramses II’s extraordinary twin temples carved directly into the mountainside. Colossal seated figures stand sentinel at the entrance, while richly carved interiors honor gods and royal power. Learn how these monuments were moved stone-by-stone to escape Lake Nasser’s rise. In the afternoon, Old Cataract’s Nile-view terraces beckon a timeless panorama. Salute sundown with karkade (chilled hibiscus tea).

Nairobi

Day 9: In Transit

Enjoy a morning at ease in Aswan. Savor an unhurried breakfast as daylight shifts across pink granite cliffs. After checking out, a private driver collects you for your return flight to Cairo. From the capital, fly south to Nairobi on an overnight flight.

Nairobi

Day 10: Welcome to Kenya

Touch down in Nairobi where a VIP welcome escorts you through immigration and luggage collection. A private driver whisks you to the leafy Karen suburb where you’ll arrive at Hemingways Eden. Take a nap and freshen up. When you’reready, a private guide is at your disposal. Meet orphaned elephants at Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, feed giraffes at the Giraffe Centre, or tour Karen Blixen’s historic homestead.

Lewa Wildlife Conservancy

Day 11: Kenya Safari 

Fly to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, the setting of a conservation success story that has pioneered the recovery of East African rhino. You’ll stay at Lewa House, a family-run property now hosted by Sophie and Calum Macfarlane, fifth-generation owners. Each couple enjoys the privacy of a thatch cottage, then gathers for shared meals that rove between the main house dinner table, stone hearth, and the shaded verandah.

Day 12: Safari, Your Way

Splendid days are anchored by morning and evening game drives that ramble across open plains and rolling hills. A private wilderness of 62,000 acres, wildlife encounters in Lewa are joyously hushed and unhurried. As day gives way to dusk, ritual sundowners are served in a secret spot in the bush. After sunset, the return to camp becomes a night game drive. Follow dinner with a starry nightcap at the fire pit.

Day 13: Conservation Safari

This morning, park the Land Cruiser for a slower, immersed safari experience. Moving at the pace of footsteps, you might choose a walking safari, horseback safari or a Maasai-led camel trek. Later, visit conservancy headquarters to meet rangers, patrollers, and an anti-poaching canine unit. You’ll learn how ecotourism engages and lifts local communities, and how decades of visionary conservation revived black and white rhino populations in Lewa, and beyond.

Mara North Conservancy

Day 14: Maasai Mara Safari

Fly to the iconic plains of the Maasai Mara. We hide you away at Ngare Serian, a small, authentic bush camp in the private wilderness of the Mara North Conservancy. Cross a footbridge to arrive at camp, a constellation of four canvas tents hugging the babbling Mara River. Intimate and unpretentious, it’s the type of place where camp staff soon feel like an extension of your party.

Day 15: Private Game Drives 

A private guide and vehicle are ready when you are. Safari days are typically anchored by twice-daily game drives, but Serian isn’t just any safari; it’s your safari, moving at the pace and needs of your group. Prefer to sleep in? No problem. When it’s time to go, ready your binoculars for mesmerizing wildlife encounters, sighting zebra, giraffe, hippo, prides of lions, herds of Cape buffalo, and possibly cheetah.

Day 16: Kenya’s Safari Soul 

On the savannah, you’ll experience Kenya’s safari spirit in its truest form: parades of grazers, amber-eyed lions, sky-swallowing sunsets, and wild dining. The Mara is big cat territory. Watch on as wildlife dramas of life and death unfold, navigated by guides who know every road and riverbend. Between big moments, relish subtler joys like crepe-thin wildflowers, whimsical weaver nests, and mustachioed warthogs. Timed right, you might see Great Migration masses.

Mara North Conservancy

Day 17: Walking Safari

Today you might rise early for a hot air balloon safari to view iconic plains in widescreen and spot wildlife in miniature. This whimsical experience ends with a Champagne bush breakfast in a scenic setting. This afternoon, follow a Maasai ranger on a guided walking safari. With senses heightened, you’ll learn to decipher animal tracks, spoor, and other telltale signs of wildlife. Beneath a banner of stars, celebrate your final dinner of the journey.

Nairobi

Day 18: Journey’s End

After a farewell morning game drive, fly to Nairobi where a private driver collects you for some last-minute shopping or sightseeing. If you fly out late, we can arrange a day hotel near the airport. Lounge next to a rooftop pool, eat a proper meal, and shower. When it’s time, a driver returns you to the airport for your international flight home.
