Torres del Paine Travel

Reaching the southernmost edge of South America is a journey in itself, but the reward is profound. Torres del Paine, the crown jewel of Chilean Patagonia, is where nature dictates the pace. Here, itineraries give way to instinct and adventure follows the rhythms of the wilderness.

When you embark on a trip to Torres del Paine with Extraordinary Journeys, you surrender to this natural cadence. Guided by local experts, each day unfolds differently: spotting a puma after a patient hike, sailing past icebergs calved from ancient glaciers, or feeling the vastness of the pampas on horseback. These moments can’t be scripted; they reveal themselves when you let Patagonia lead.

Torres del Paine National Park is Chilean’s Patagonia’s unrivaled masterpiece. Every trip with Extraordinary Journeys is tailor-made, crafted in direct collaboration with one of our destination specialists.

    Memorable accommodations

Even at the end of the world, comfort isn’t compromised. Stay in luxury lodges like Awasi Patagonia, where privacy, world-class cuisine, and personalized excursions create a sense of solitude and sophistication. Or opt for upscale eco-camps such as EcoCamp Patagonia or Patagonia Camp, where geodesic domes and yurts bring you closer to nature without forgoing warmth or style.

    Expert guides

Our trusted guides know all the park’s secrets. Not only will you walk away with a wealth of knowledge on all things Patagonia, but your guide will know exactly how to make the park stand out for you, whether you’re more interested in wildlife encounters or diving into the region’s cowboy heritage.

    Extraordinary experiences

The lodges we partner with host only a handful of guests, preserving the feeling of wilderness. We make the park’s celebrated highlights—like the W Trek or puma-tracking safaris—feel personal and fresh, adjusting timing and routes to keep the experience intimate. And for travelers seeking the truly rare, we can take you deeper still: fly fishing glacial rivers under circling condors, kayaking across turquoise lakes studded with icebergs, or strapping on crampons to walk across millennia-old ice.

The best time to visit Torres del Paine

Summer (which, in the Southern Hemisphere, falls between December and early March) is the best time to plan a Torres del Paine trip. Even though you can still encounter rainy weather and fierce winds, temperatures are comfortable and the longer days give you more daylight hours to hit the trails and squeeze in more time to admire the scenery.

If you want to avoid the high season crowds during December, January, and February, we recommend a spring or fall visit. The weather is still conducive to outdoor adventure, and you get seasonal bonuses like blooming wildflowers or seeing baby guanacos. Many people also don’t know that Torres del Paine is a year-round destination; some lodges remain open through winter, where you’ll have the park practically to yourself.
