Luang Prabang is a vibrant town steeped in tradition cradled by the green mountains of northern Laos, and often considered an essential part of Laos travel.
While Buddhism is practiced throughout Southeast Asia, it’s particularly prominent in Laos, and Luang Prabang is the country’s spiritual heart. The UNESCO World Heritage site is studded with golden temples, and monks clad in saffron robes glide silently through the city’s backstreets to receive offerings for daily almsgiving ceremonies.
