Tarangire National Park is a beautiful park with rolling grasslands dotted with majestic baobab trees.
Tarangire is at its best during the dry season (June-December) when many of the migratory wildlife species return to the waters of the Tarangire River. Although most well-known for its huge herds of elephant, the park is also home to lion, leopard, wildebeest, zebra, hippo and other plains game, along with over 300 bird species. The green season (January-May) is very beautiful and less crowded; however, the herds are smaller and the abundance of tsetse flies can be quite irritating.
