1
Johannesburg
Welcome to Johannesburg, a city of contrast and connection. After customs assistance, a private driver brings you to AtholPlace Hotel & Villa, an elegant base in a leafy neighborhood that works beautifully for multi-generational groups. Stretch out in spacious suites or your exclusive-use villa, let the kids find the pool while grandparents exhale in the garden. Later, gather over your first South African dinner.
2
Johannesburg
Today, a private Soweto tour with an EJ-selected guide introduces some of the most meaningful things to do in Johannesburg, including the Hector Pieterson Museum, Mandela House, and Regina Mundi Church. Your guide brings context to the stories that shaped South Africa’s democracy. End at Orlando Towers, where thrill-seeking family members can bungee jump or opt for a relaxed wander around the nearby shebeen restaurants (traditional township taverns).
3
Okavango Delta
Fly from Johannesburg to Maun, then board a helicopter into a quiet, little-visited stretch of the Okavango Delta set aside exclusively for your family. Touch down at your private mobile camp along the Kweene River and settle in before heading out on an afternoon game drive to get a feel for the landscape. As the light fades, gather for sundowners and a relaxed first dinner in the Delta.
4
Okavango Delta
Today is deliberately flexible so everyone in your family can safari at their own pace: game drives, guided walks, or mokoro outings. With no other camps in sight, the wilderness feels truly yours. For a standout Botswana moment, you can opt for a helicopter flight with a picnic breakfast for a bird’s eye view of the Delta (at an additional cost).
5
Okavango Delta
Today you move from Kweene River Camp toward Magwegwe Camp, and the journey is an adventure in itself. Reach your new base by vehicle, on foot, or by mokoro, or a combination of all three. Along the way, pause for a bush picnic and siesta. As you approach Magwegwe Camp, the landscape shifts to seasonal swamp, with islands and steady channels that support wildlife year-round.
6
Okavango Delta
Explore Magwegwe’s vast floodplains and scattered islands, where the Okavango feels at its most lush. Walking safaris reveal tracks and smaller creatures, while mokoro excursions glide past lilies and reed-fringed channels. Game drives and optional night drives offer a chance to spot predators and nocturnal life. With no other camps in sight, you can linger at sightings for wildlife encounters that feel entirely your own.
7
Cape Town
After a final Delta morning, a helicopter returns you to Maun for your flight to Cape Town. You'll stay at Cape Cadogan, a stylish townhouse hotel that blends urban buzz with quiet corners. It suits families who like to be in the heart of things while still having a serene base. This evening, stroll to nearby Kloof Street for dinner, letting everyone choose their new favorite South African dish.
8
Cape Town
Kick off Cape Town with a mix of fun and fresh ocean air. At Atlantis Dunes, try quad biking and sandboarding, perfect for kids and thrill-seeking adults. Later, board South Africa’s largest superyacht for a sunset cruise along the Atlantic seaboard. Toast as the sun drops behind Table Mountain while younger travelers scan the water for dolphins.
9
Cape Town
Today you meet Jade De Waal, a beloved local chef and musician. Together, visit a market to choose ingredients, then gather in her studio kitchen to cook Cape Malay dishes side by side. It’s hands-on and perfect for cross-generational connection. Later, ride the cable car up Table Mountain for sweeping views, then wander along Camps Bay’s promenade, watching the light change over the ocean.
10
Cape Town
This is your day to follow your family’s rhythm. Visit art museums, relax at the spa, or stroll the Company’s Garden. At Clay Café, kids can paint pottery while the grown-ups sip wine or coffee, savoring a slower city day. If you are in Cape Town on a weekend, we can build in time at Oranjezicht City Farm Market, a favorite with our team for food, people-watching, and local color.
11
Kwandwe Private Game Reserve
After flying to the Eastern Cape, arrive at Kwandwe Private Game Reserve to kick off your South Africa safari. Melton Manor, your exclusive-use villa, has generous indoor-outdoor spaces and a courtyard pool perfect for families. Following lunch and a rest, head out on your first game drive. Sundowners and dinner at the villa set a relaxed tone for your days ahead.
12 to 14
Kwandwe Private Game Reserve
Your days at Kwandwe blend meaningful conservation with unhurried safari time. When the team locates a rhino needing monitoring, you join them in the field, observing the vet’s work and helping with simple tasks. Between game drives, guides share how the reserve protects wildlife, while afternoons leave space for pool time, board games, and long veranda lunches.
15
Kwandwe Private Game Reserve
After a lingering breakfast on the veranda, it's time to say goodbye to Kwandwe. A transfer brings you to Port Elizabeth for your onward journey. Your family leaves with more than photos, but a deeper connection to Africa’s land, history, and future.
This multi-generational safari suits families who are excited by a mix of cities, a private Botswana safari, and hands-on conservation in South Africa.

Personalize your journey with a deep dive into Johannesburg's history, a helicopter visit to Botswana’s Tsodilo Hills, or extra time exploring Cape Town's markets and neighborhood food scenes.
With unbound possibilities, we'll design a multi-generational safari that feels beautifully personal.
