Lusaka, is Zambia’s capital and largest city. We don’t recommend Lusaka as more than a stopover destination because there just isn’t enough to do unless you are visiting someone, volunteering or visiting a local organization. We incorporate Lusaka into itineraries in which someone is visiting one or more national parks in Zambia, such as South Luangwa or Lower Zambezi and have to fly through Lusaka to reach them. For clients traveling to Livingstone to see Victoria Falls, it is easy to fly directly into the international airport in Livingstone. For travelers overnighting in Lusaka, we like to use Pioneer Camp, a quieter option just outside the city, or the Intercontinental Hotel Lusaka for easy access to the airport. If you’re looking for a chic, boutique property we highly recommend Latitude 15.
