Our best-value luxury Botswana safari
Botswana is one of the great safari destinations in Africa. More than one-third of the country is comprised of national parks and reserves that are home to some of the highest concentrations of big game on the continent. Safari here is exclusive and crowd-free. However, Botswana is one of the costliest safari destinations. Wildlife & Waterways: Classic Botswana Safari includes camps that offer great access to wildlife but at a fraction of the cost of so many other lodges, making this itinerary incredible value for money. And we don't skip over iconic wilderness to do it. Explore two lush landscapes in the Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park, known for elephant herds that congregate along the river.

Wildlife & Waterways: Classic Botswana Safari trip highlights
- This 9-day fly-in luxury Botswana safari begins with a light aircraft flight from Maun to Camp Moremi in Moremi Game Reserve, which was established by the BaTawna people to help preserve the region’s wildlife. The diversity of habitat in the Okavango Delta supports one of the greatest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, and you can enjoy morning and afternoon game drives and explore the lagoon and its surrounding channels by boat (water level dependent), looking out for hippo and crocodile.
- Fly deeper into the Okavango Delta, arriving at Xugana Island Lodge—perhaps the most spectacular permanent water site in the entire Delta. Water-based excursions are the star attraction here. Enjoy a mokoro safari, boat safari, and catch-and-release fishing. When you're ready to stretch your legs, set out for an enthralling bush walk and birding. This intimate camp is shaded by ebony and mangosteen trees and open-sided thatched structures and lofty decks are ideal for drinking in the lagoon views.
- Fly to Savute in the southwest corner of Chobe National Park, known for the mysterious and fickle Savute Channel, which has flowed erratically for all recorded history. After being dry and arid for nearly 30 years, the channel started flowing again in 2008 and has once more become a waterway harboring hippo, and a myriad of water birds. From your luxury chalet at Savute Safari Lodge, watch the varied wildlife as they make their way to the Channel to drink, bathe, and play. Don’t miss the opportunity to see the fascinating ancient San rock paintings in the Gubatsa Hills.
- Fly back to Maun for your return flight home or to continue your private luxury Africa safari.
