Tel Aviv
The contrast of old and new is found everywhere in Israel, but nowhere is this more evident than in Tel Aviv. The towering skyscrapers and state-of-the-art technology found in this cosmopolitan city stand in stark contrast to the ancient cobblestone streets and old-world charm of surrounding neighborhoods. Visitors spend time marveling at original artist residences of Neve Tzedek, exploring the plethora of contemporary art galleries, engaging in retail therapy at chic boutiques, soaking in history at an array of museums, and relaxing in the sun on the Mediterranean coastline.
The food is incredible in Israel – falafel, hummus, shawarma, salads, seafood, and freshly baked goods. Sit down for a bite at the local market, or at a table in a trendy restaurant, and enjoy the cuisine on offer. Tel Aviv is also known for it’s lively nightlife and bar scene.
Jaffa
Jaffa is an ancient port city, just south of Tel Aviv, and in recent years has become a very trendy place to stay. The Jaffa flea market is a fun place to spend a free afternoon, with vendors selling a wide range of goods. The cobblestones streets which make up the city are lined with artist galleries and studios, as well as boutique and craft shops.
