Visit Kenya and explore forest, mountain, and savanna

Kenya is justifiably famous for its diverse ecosystems, and this itinerary includes three very different yet dramatic landscapes: Visit Kenya and the forests of Meru National Park to the east; the plains, hills, and mountains of Laikipia Plateau to the north; and the seemingly endless savanna of the Masai Mara to the south.

As you’d expect, you’ll find an extraordinary range of wildlife too, from the Big 5, endangered wild dog, and hundreds of bird species to adapted species only found north of the equator. As all but one of the camps you’ll stay in are set in private conservancies, you’ll be able to go on bush walks, drive off-road, and go on night drives – or how about a camel trek, a visit to a local village, or a night sleeping under the stars?

Go for guided walks, night drives and visits to the local Tharaka community, and visit a sanctuary in the heart of the park that’s home to around 70 black and white rhino
  • Fly from here to Loisaba Tented Camp in Loisaba Conservancy for game drives, camel treks, mountain biking, and horseback-riding, while watching out for northern species such as Grévy's zebra, Beisa oryx, and Somali ostrich
  • Spend an unforgettable night in a ‘star bed’, where a team of Samburu and Maasai warriors will be your hosts and you’ll fall asleep with the sounds of the wilderness all around you on your extraordinary visit to Kenya
  • Fly to the remote Elephant Pepper Camp in the Mara North Conservancy, a private wilderness area spanning nearly 75,000 acres. If you’re here during the migration you can take a day trip to the river for a chance to witness a crossing
