Kim Green

Senior Safari Specialist

Immersive | Authentic | Adventurous

Kim has traveled extensively, counting herself lucky to have visited all seven continents, but no matter where she’s heading, she says there’s always a meaningful connection to be made with a destination. Based in Denver Colorado, she’s our long-time safari specialist. She’s also a mother of two girls and can’t wait to continue exploring the world with her family. Kim turned her passion for travel into a career and led small groups around the world as an international travel director. In her nine years at Extraordinary Journeys, some of her favorite journeys have included mokoro rides in the Okavango Delta, catching tiger fish in Zambia, a balloon ride over the red dunes in Namibia, standing atop the ‘Roof of Africa’ on Mt. Kilimanjaro, snorkelling the azure waters of the Seychelles, and coming face to face with mountain gorillas in both Rwanda and Uganda. Our team describes her as knowledgeable, friendly and a perfectionist—what more could you want in a travel specialist?

My Greatest Adventure

Trekking chimpanzees in Mahale Mountains National Park, it started to rain as we were hiking through the mountains, chimps were swinging in the trees calling to one another, I grabbed a branch as I slipped on the muddy hill—it felt like a scene from Tarzan!

My Favorite Destinations

Zambia. I love the immersive and raw nature of searching for big game on a walking safari in Luangwa National Park. We listened to the baboons in the trees barking a warning call that a leopard was nearby; I soaked my feet in the shallow river bed of the Luangwa with a cold sundowner drink. Wild dogs are one of my favorite animals, and we chased them on a hunt!

I loved being on the Zambezi River in the Lower Zambezi National Park. There we listened to the waves as a herd of elephants crossed the river in front of our canoes; I caught my first tiger fish! The beautiful canopy of winter thorn trees is also a stunning setting to spot a leopard or herd of kudu. Swimming at the edge of Victoria Falls from Livingstone Island was invigorating and such a fun way to experience one of the natural wonders of the world.
