Gorillas in the Wild trip highlights

  • This 5-day fly-in luxury Uganda safari begins with an overnight stay at Hotel No. 5 in Entebbe.
  • Fly to Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, known for its exceptional diversity of flora and fauna—and, of course, the endangered mountain gorilla.
  • In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Batwa (pygmy) community and spend an incredible day hiking in the rainforest with elder guides. Learn how the Batwa once lived and hunted, the medicinal plants they use, and how to watch for animals and birds. You will share a traditional meal, hear ancient legends and traditional songs, and join in on a mock hunting party.
  • Trek through rainforest and bamboo-covered slopes in search of a mountain gorilla family. This is a sometimes strenuous and tough journey, but once you catch a glimpse of the gorillas any and all discomforts are quickly forgotten. When sighted, you will spend one hour with them, observing their behavior and interactions.
