Private luxury travel to northern Patagonia’s Aysén Region

Remote and stunningly beautiful, Aysen is the perfect stop for those seeking the best of Patagonia without the crowds. It is located just south of the Lake District and Puerto Montt and north of Torres del Paine. With glaciers, mountains, rivers, and rainforest, you will have access to some true wilderness here. Some highlights of Aysen include the Northern Patagonian Ice Field (contained entirely in Laguna San Rafael National Park) and Southern Patagonian Ice Field (partially in Aysen), Laguna San Rafael National Park, Queulat National Park, and Patagonia National Park, made famous by Doug and Kris Tompkins. This area also boasts one of the most famous road-trip roads in the world, the Carretera Austral. Until relatively recently this region was untamed and untouched, and it continues to have an undiscovered feel.

Activities are abundant as well, keeping each day action-packed and full of adventure. Excursions include hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, horseback riding, sea kayaking Patagonian fjords, river rafting the Baker River, photography, and fly fishing.

Similar to the rest of the region, the best time to visit is November to early March (summertime in the southern hemisphere). The parks will be much more crowded during the peak months of December – February, so we recommend visiting during the shoulder season months of November, early December and March for incredible weather and fewer people.
