Passports: Virtual Journeys

(Virtual) Travel for the Wild at Heart

There is nothing quite like that feeling of getting a new stamp in your passport. One stamp represents so much – exploration, excitement, education, and adventure. If 2020 taught us anything, it’s that we as humans have a very real need to be out exploring and interacting with the world around us. Even as we’re getting back out there more and more, the ability to virtually connect with people and places around the world remains a gift of the past year.

In our line of work, we are fortunate to meet and work with so many incredible people who influence and shape the world we live in. Through Passports, we will bring them into your homes, to take you to new places, explore new ideas, and inspire and inform your next extraordinary journey.

Each webinar will take place on Zoom, but take a variety of forms. From talks to panels and how-to sessions to hands-on interactions, we plan to mix things up as each topic allows. If an event requires advanced purchase items (think ingredients to make something, or wine for a virtual tasting) we’ll handle the details.

Check back soon for registration info for each webinar. In the meantime, here’s a taste of what’s to come in our monthly series through September:

  • Photographing the Maasai Mara with Georgina Goodwin, Cottar’s Camp
  • Tigers, snow leopards, and undiscovered India with Amit Sankhala, Encounters Asia
  • Family Fun: Activities in the South African bush in partnership with Sabi Sabi
  • Architecture and styling: inside Singita’s design team with Georgie Pennington
  • Marine wildlife with South African freediving champion Hanli Prinsloo

For those who missed it, you can still tune into last year’s virtual series, Live from Africa on YouTube. Our guests included Derek & Beverly Joubert of the Great Plains Foundation; safari guide extraordinaire, Peter Allison, of Natural Selections; Laurie Marker, Founder of Cheetah Conservation Fund; Beks Ndlovu, Founder of African Bush Camps, and more.
