Galápagos by Boat + Ecuador's Tropical Lowlands

There's no better way to travel these spectacularly diverse, otherworldly islands where blue-footed boobies nest, giant tortoises roam freely, and unforgettable landscapes are surrounded by turquoise waters than by boat.

Blue-footed boobies nesting on desolate volcanic bluffs, penguins darting through crystal-clear water, and marine iguanas marching along pristine beaches. While the otherworldly terrain of the Galápagos Islands is unlike traditional tropical destinations, for travelers who love wildlife and remote places, the archipelago’s surreal moonscapes are a dream. The constellation of islands sits 600 miles off the Ecuadorian coast and is made up of 13 major islands, plus a smattering of smaller ones formed by repeated volcanic eruptions.
Because the islands developed in isolation for most of their history, conditions were ideal for a vast and unusual array of flora and fauna to emerge. The UNESCO World Heritage Site has preserved 95 percent of these endemic species, which has drawn travelers and explorers to the region for centuries (most famously, naturalist Charles Darwin). Traveling on a boutique ship ensures you’ll get to experience the incredible biodiversity in the Galápagos, since different species and landscapes characterize each island.

Suites on a luxury catamaran like the  Endemic are typically much larger than cabins on old-fashioned single-hulled yachts. Professional designers with shipboard experience created ours for maximum comfort and elegance. Each cabin has personalized air conditioning control, a balcony, a spacious private bathroom, and either a king-size bed or two twin-size beds. Naturally, each suite also boasts closet/drawer space and a writing desk and strong box.

Who is a luxury Galápagos by Boat + Ecuador's Tropical Lowlands trip best for?

Travelers who want an iconic Galápagos cruising experience, as well as those who want to explore the sea life around the islands by kayak, paddleboard, diving, and snorkeling. A cruise often offers travelers more remote and varied wildlife viewing experiences in uninhabited places. Your travel advisor will help you choose the best size and style boat for you.
