Frequently Asked Questions

Will I need to get a Covid test to travel?

For most travel destinations, yes, a negative PCR test is a condition for boarding your flight out of the United States. Testing requirements vary country by country and even between countries if you are considering a multi-country itinerary. For existing travelers, we will be reaching out about 4-months prior to your trip to review new protocols and procedures. For new travel, we will plan your trip based on existing regulations and build in tests where necessary to get you from one destination to the next as seamlessly as possible. Prior to travel, we will send detailed documents to you with options for pre-departure testing.

The United States requires a negative Covid test to return. Can you arrange for that?

Absolutely! In most of the countries where we operate, in-country testing is fast and efficient prior to departure. Whether you are in a major city or a remote bush camp, we will make sure you get what you need to make it back home without stress.

Will I still need Covid tests if I’m fully vaccinated?

At the time of publication (February 2021), yes. Most destinations require proof of a negative PCR test regardless of your vaccine status. Some destinations though are only open to travelers who have been fully vaccinated.

I booked my trip but cases are spiking and I’m not comfortable traveling right now. What are my options?

Postponing your travel IS possible. We have been diligently postponing client travel since the onset of the pandemic (sometimes more than once or twice). Seasonal increases may apply if you choose to travel during a different time of year than your original itinerary, and year-to-year price increases may also apply. Please note that commercial flights are subject to the specific airline’s rules and regulations.

Cancellations are subject to the terms and conditions of your specific trip. For new bookings, we will negotiate with our teams on the ground to get you the most flexible terms possible and we’ll review these with you prior to booking.

Will insurance cover us?

Travel insurance will not cover your trip costs if you cancel due to coronavirus, unless a Cancel for Any Reason plan was purchased.

We are happy to work with you to choose the right policy for your needs. In general, we recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance in case you get sick before or during your trip.

What happens if a travel ban is imposed before my trip?

Travel bans are typically not covered by travel insurance for reimbursement, however please consult your specific policy terms. We are happy to help you postpone your itinerary to different dates when conditions on the ground are suitable for travel.

At the start of the pandemic, we were working diligently to get clients home prior to borders closing. With eyes and ears on the ground at all times, working with a travel company really pays off when things start to get hairy.

What if I get Covid while traveling?

Travel insurance is still your best resource for medical care and evacuation (if required) while you are traveling. However, coverage terms and amounts depend on the policy you select. Between our decades in the travel industry and top-notch partners on the ground, we’ll make sure you’re well taken care of.
