Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani is a big city hotel. The rooms are comfortable and have all the amenities you could ask for but are not particularly unique. What really makes this hotel worth it for us is the location. It has stunning ocean views and sits on the Durban Promenade which means all the activities, food and atmosphere of the Golden Mile are walking distance.
