Alphonse Island Resort

Alphonse Island Resort, The Alphonse group of atolls is considered one of the most pristine and untouched in the world and are a dream for fisher-folk and divers alike. The magnificent island threesome of Alphonse, St Francois and Bijoutier lies in the very heart of the Indian Ocean and is blessed with one of the world’s healthiest climates, and miles of unblemished shorelines, lagoons and sea flats.

Although you could sit on the beach and relax at Alphonse, it is serious scuba divers and deep sea and fly fishing enthusiasts who will get the most out of the island. For the fly-fishers the atolls are home to incredibly populations of Bonefish, 3 different types of Triggerfish, Barracuda, Snapper, Grouper, Permit, Parrotfish, 8 species of Trevally and Milkfish. For deep-sea fishermen Sailfish, Wahoo, Dogtooth Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna and Dorado can be challenged on any given day. There are 13 spectacular dive sites accessible to a range of skill levels. An international team of guides, dive masters and qualified managers are on hand to share their passion for this unique ecosystem. Alphonse Island has rigorous sustainability measures in place for all of it is activities. Fly fishing is catch and release only and no conventional angling is permitted next to or on the reef that surrounds the island.

The setting and the activities are what you are paying for at Alphonse not the accommodation. While the villas are spacious and more than comfortable, they are not super luxurious and the décor is average. The food is good and the common area has a nice pool and fun touches like hammocks and a giant chess board. The service at Alphonse is uniformly excellent. From the professional fishing guides to the staff at the resort, everyone’s wishes are attended too and the service is tailored to reflect each guests needs during their stay.

Alphonse Island is the perfect fishing and diving location for true enthusiasts who want to have a personalized, extremely high quality experience and for those clients we highly recommend it. If you want a private island experience in the Seychelles that is more about relaxation, we recommend North Island, Descroches, Fregate, or Denis.
