Can Americans travel to Zambia?

In theory yes. Tourists arriving will be subjected to a temperature test upon arrival and will need to carry with them proof of a negative COVID test conducted within the previous 14 days. 

Any travelers with a temperature above 38 degrees or presenting any symptoms will be tested and quarantined until the results are ready. Random testing may be carried out. 

Can you get a tourist visa?

While there was some confusing in the beginning if Zambia was going to be issuing tourist visas but that has all been resolved. It is now easy to get a visa.

Which airlines are flying to Zambia during COVID?

Not only is Zambia open for international travel, but Emirates will be starting international flights to Zambia again ~ from 1 September 2020!

Flights will be operating every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday until further notice.

Currently Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways and Qatar Airways are all flying into Zambia from selected international destinations — as of August 2020.

All international flights are flying to Lusaka Airport. All domestic flights are operating. Domestic flights between Lusaka and Livingstone can be booked with Proflight and Mahogany Air.
