Xakanaxa
Independently owned Xakanaxaland, a land camp in the Okavango Delta’s Moremi Reserve, is situated on permanent waterways, offering land activities year-round and boating. We like the tasteful décor and the fact that it has a good position on the Kwhai River, overlooking the lagoon so guests can continue their game viewing from the camp itself.
Xakanaka is a lovely camp and is well priced, but it has its drawbacks. Being in the Moremi, night drives are not permitted and game drives are restricted to daylight hours. There are also two other camps in the vicinity, Okuti and Camp Moremi, which could impact the exclusivity of sightings.
We prefer sending clients to more exclusive concessions, but this is still a great option, especially combined with other properties such as Kwara or Motswiri.
