Tsala Treetop Lodge

Tsala Treetop Lodge, sits along South Africa’s iconic Garden Route, between between the coastal towns of Knysna and Plettenberg Bay in the Western Cape. Surrounded by ancient indigenous forest, yet maintaining easy access to other major sights along the Route, Tsala is a unique getaway. Its architecture combines earthy stone masonry and woodwork with airy tree-house construction, afro-baroque décor, rich textures and handcrafted fittings.

The two villas can accommodate up to four guests. Each features a private bathroom with free – standing stone bath and double vanities, and indoor/outdoor showers. The treetop suites are tucked into the forest canopy, a treat we loved for feeling like a real escape. The suites all feature a pool and sitting room with fireplace.

Due to its Garden Route location, guests can choose to take advantage of numerous day excursions, though not included at the lodge. Some of these may include visiting the Birds of Eden bird sanctuary, Keurbooms River paddle-boarding, Monkeyland multi-species primate sanctuary, coastal surfing, kayaking or sailing, hiking, mountain biking or horseback riding though the surrounding hills, and more.
