Tortilis Camp sits on the edge of the Amboseli National Park, sheltered by a forest of thorn trees with unbeatable views of the Amboseli plains across to Kilimanjaro. Game drives and walks take place on the Kitirua Private Concession as well as in the Amboseli National Park, so you get the best of both.
The tents are spacious with king sized beds, en-suite bathrooms and steaming hot showers. A thatched roof extends out to a large verandah.Tortilis’ main areas are constructed using natural materials and consist of a lounge, bar and dining tent, but sundowners and bush meals are served al fresco.
Tortilis is not our favorite camp in Kenya and we find it a bit manicured, it is our favorite in the Amboseli area. We think it is great for first-time safari goers and families with younger children. The Private House is an option for family groups or those looking for more intimacy. The camp is not ideal for guests with mobility issues.
