The Byron at Byron
Byron Bay, located in the far north of New South Wales, is the easternmost point of Australia. Thick rainforest surrounds a pristine beach, which is famous for exceptional surfing. The town has always attracted surfers, many of whom are now of retirement age and still hitting the waves, giving the area a relaxed, hippie vibe.
The Byron at Byron is an elegant resort spread across more than 45-acres that focuses on rejuvenating the mind and body, with a combination of nature-focused experiences, wellness treatments and activities on the grounds. The complex borders Tallow Beach, an excellent swimming beach, which is found at the end of a meandering forest boardwalk. There are small riverine systems flowing through the edges of the resort and a couple of large ponds.
The modern suites are very comfortable, clean and bright. Each contains a living area with a kitchen, dining area and couch. Bedrooms are well-appointed and we especially like the balcony areas. However, the rooms are not particularly big and are clustered together in large blocks, so you do not have a feeling of privacy.
Aside from the on-site facilities (and we must admit, we do appreciate the complimentary daily yoga classes), there are several self-guided walks through the forests or you can relax on the beach. The town is just 5-minutes away and offers good restaurants, shopping and a lively beach-town vibe. From the town, you can partake in more active experiences such as horseback riding, kayaking, snorkeling, diving, surfing and even skydiving!
The Byron at Byron has 92 suites and is ideal for people who want all of the amenities and facilities right at their doorstep and do not mind being in a larger complex. The dining and public areas provide excellent service and well prepared meals.
