Serengeti Pioneer Camp

Serengeti Pioneer Camp is part of Elewana’s collection of luxury camps across Tanzania and Kenya. It boasts stunning views over the plains, the Moru Kopjes, and Lake Magadi. The Great Migration comes through the Southern Serengeti between December and April and the camp offers day trips (1-2 hour drive) to experience this iconic natural occurrence. The area surrounding the camp is less busy than the Southern Serengeti but still offers good year-round game viewing.

Serengeti Pioneer Camp’s 12 private tents offer comfortable en-suite rooms and a 2-bedroom family unit with décor inspired by the colonial era and designed with minimal environmental impact. Meals are served in the main dining tent or outdoors with gorgeous views of the plains. Activities offered include game drives through the park in search of the resident Big 5.

At Serengeti Pioneer Camp, you always feel immersed in your surroundings, conscious of the sights, sounds, and smells which all make up a spectacular safari experience. This is perfect for some, but maybe not for you if you feel a little nervous being in a tent in the middle of a Big 5 game reserve.
