Sasaab
Sasaab is a beautiful hillside property, located on Samburu community land bordering Samburu National Park. We love Sasaab for its beauty, activities and authentic cultural interaction.
This is truly one of the most stunning properties anywhere in Africa. The gorgeous accommodation was built using local-sourced materials and has both a Swahili and Moroccan feel. Open-air rooms have spectacular views over the arid Samburu landscape and the river below. Each room has its own private plunge pool and deck.
The “souk” style main area provides a warm and friendly atmosphere. Excellent meals are prepared with the finest fresh ingredients and served in the privacy of various different areas of the “souk” or under the stars!
Activities at Sasaab include camel walks, game drives, bush walks and exceptionally well-done educational cultural visits are enhanced by knowledgeable Samburu guides. Back at the lodge you can relax by the swimming pool, enjoy beauty treatments in the spa or privacy of your own tent, or find a corner of your own to unwind. To end the day, enjoy sundowners from a rocky kopje (granite outcrop) or on the elevated terrace at the lodge.
Sasaab is not ideal for guests with mobility issues, as you do need to walk over uneven ground (and uphill) when you move between the lodge and your room.
